The Riverview Hotel showcases how pub grub has transformed over the years
The Riverview Hotel has endured since the 1880s a bit of interesting trivia: former Olympic gold medal swimmer Dawn Fraser was a licensee of the pub from 1978 to 1983
The dining area upstairs looks rather dingy, the carpet scuffed and fading brown lacquered surfaces – it appears outdated in a word. However it shouldn’t matter because the food will surprise you – in a pleasant way. Mains are comfortingly English – your meat and two veg requirements are easily and tastily fulfilled by the perfectly cooked Cone bay barramundi, charred sprouts, cauliflower & quinoa and the Traditional Sunday Roast’ riverine sirloin with trimmings & Yorkshire pudding
Lip-smacking desserts offered are the Toffee apple pannacotta, caramel popcorn and apple sorbet and my personal favourite is the Chocolate mousse, honeycomb, orange and sherry vinegar caramel $15
MsBrulee dined as guests of The Riverview Hotel. Opinions however are my own.
