Sashimi Tucker bring an entire tuna into their outlet, fillet it and we can eat it for incredible value.
MsBrulee dined as guests of Sashimi Tucker. Opinions however are my own.
Once a month Sashimi Tucker offer tuna so fresh it’s filleted right before your eyes. The specimen for this month weighs in at a healthy 50kg, its eyeball, the diameter of my thumb. On these days, it’s strictly about tuna, on every other day they have their just as popular regular menu consisting of other types of fish.
Owners Koji and Yasuko and Chef Mitsuhiro wanted to supply to the public affordable Japanese lunch staples, hence Sashimi Tucker was established. It’s also one of the restaurants from the expansive Yachiyo Group.
Every meal is made to order, which can slow down service during peak lunch times and the lack of a proper order taking process results in incorrect meals being distributed. Aside from these issues, in return for your patience, you can have the freshest possible tuna for lunch at unbeatable prices.
As expected from fish this fresh, it does not smell the slightest bit fishy. Just a dab of wasabi and a splash of soy is all that’s required to enhance the butteriness of the grapefruit-pink flesh. The vinegared sushi rice is particularly on point too, a little sweet, sour and with a mouth-watering fermented note.
With such quality and very reasonable prices, I would not hesitate to recommend this place for lunch.
