A second location now open in Newtown
Having paid a visit to the first Salmon & Bear in Zetland we’re back again to check out the evolving seafood menu.
Owners Joel and Joe flew in a Mibrasa oven especially for it’s ability to control heat when lit with charcoal. An added bonus is that everything cooked on the grills tastes wonderfully smoky. The Ora king salmon is a great example of how well the charcoal permeates and imparts smokiness into the fish.
Keeping things interesting by introducing a special of the month is a Prawn + crab burger with your choice of sweet potato or regular potato fries – the hard work of shelling seafood has been done for you. Sweet crab pieces, diced prawns and corn kernels shaped into a burger patty. It’s a novel and enjoyable way to ensure your omega 3 intake.
The prawns used are enormous in the Grizzlin garlic prawns in tomato and mediterranean vegetable sauce. Served with crusty sourdough baguette to mop up all that tasty, saucy goodness.
Feast on the catch of the day straight from the sea and onto your plate. When you eat this well, you feel good and that’s really all you need to know isn’t it?
