In-house roasted coffee, Japanese-inspired menu and desserts
In-house roasted coffee is a unique blend from Indonesia where owner Benji hails from. When it comes to weekends be prepared to get there early to avoid disappointment missing out on a table and dishes. The pastrami sold out two hours before closing but I’d happily have something else from the menu as a plan B because they all sound delectable.
House smoked salmon tartine is a towering plate of complementary flavours. Sourdough topped with dill cream, delicate sliced salmon, wafer thin shavings of green apple, fennel, Spanish onion, draped cucumber, toasted pine nuts and a squeeze of lime – c’est magnifique
The Kabuki waffle is a very easy choice to make too. Piping hot juicy free range fried chicken thighs coated in an addictive, sticky sweet honey lime ginger dressing. With a side of spicy waffles, cabbage slaw, dusted shichimi salt, wasabi mayo and squeeze some lemon if you wish.
Don’t even think about leaving without a slice of the smoothest Green tea cheesecake dusted with ceremonial grade matcha and Yuzu creme brulee that is sweet and lipsmackingly tart with an excellent sugar crust and crumbly pastry.
