Paradise Road Diner, North Bondi

Paradise Road Diner is a modern American diner by David Owen. It’s worth mentioning that he is ex-manager of the renowned Icebergs in Bondi.

After a walk along Bondi Beach we stopped by for lunch although there is a mean-sounding breakfast on offer too.

                  Vanilla malt shake $6

Some would argue that vanilla is just plain boring – what can I say? I appreciate the simplicity of malt and vanilla in a milkshake. Slurp! Slurp!

Cheese burger $15 with fries (+$2) - beef burger, tomato, two types of cheese, aioli, tomato relish, pickles and iceberg

Also sank my teeth into a cheese burger, the beef has a little fat, keeping it nice and moist, the buns were soft and lightly sweet, and the melted cheeses coated all the way around the patty gave it another layer of enjoyment.

Fried chicken and waffles $20 - pomegranate, jalepeno and maple syrup served on the side,  charred jalapeno

Fried chicken and waffles is just one of those wonderfully guilty dishes. Nutrition is not a concern when theres juicy, tender boneless chicken pieces in a deep-fried crunchy batter, really good waffles with crispy edges and the mandatory maple syrup.

Good ol’ American burgers, fried chicken and waffles await you~

This meal was paid for independently
