Mercado, Sydney CBD

In partnership with Sydney Festival 2017 the Fast Festival Feasts program help to bring Sydney the best options at which to dine before or after any performance.

Available before 6pm the $55 per person pre-theatre menu includes 3 courses and snacks to start.

For starters, Mercado’s take on Fish n chips are potato crisps for dipping into a velvety smooth taramasalata dip.

Followed by the Turkish ravioli of pumpkin, yogurt & burnt butter a warm dish of flat pasta dotted with sweet pumpkin puree and drizzled butter – it appears simple and is one heck of a comforting meal. Our Roasted prawns come split in half and folded in a wonderfully rich sauce of shellfish butter and bottarga.

Meats from the rotisserie will invariably depend on the evening, the Porchetta with Catalan style spinach features a thick loin of pork with an extra crispy rind of crackling. Fight for seconds! A side ofWood fired carrots, almond dukkah, tea soaked currants are cooked excellently.

To finish the Dulce de leche ice cream, butterscotch and candied bacon and bread and butter pudding with vanilla cream will send you off into your evening on a caramelly, creamy and crackly topped sugar high.
