Surf and booze all year round at this beachside hotel.
Renovated late last year in 2015, Hotel Bondi is only a brief stroll from Bondi Beach. It doesn’t quite make sense to visit the coast in the middle of winter, but there are plenty of outdoor heaters to keep you toasty.
Note that desserts have yet to be added to the menu however management are working on this.
While I cannot recommend the SALT & PEPPER CALAMARI with chilli aioli $13 because of the soggy batter, the mains fare much better.
SLOW ROASTED PORK BELLY w/ sautéed cabbage, chorizo, roast apples & jus $24 has excellent crackling and WAGYU BEEF BURGER w/ crispy bacon, tomato, lettuce, swiss cheese, caramelised onion & bbq sauce $17 leaves one replete from melted cheese and a juicy hunk of Wagyu beef patty.
To achieve a well-rounded diet we added some vegetables and selected the PUMPKIN, BEETROOT & QUINOA SALAD w/ bulgarian feta, walnuts, baby cos, honey & wholegrain mustard dressing $15
The menu also features the iconic Australian fish n chips BEER BATTERED BARRAMUNDI & THICK CUT CHIPS with house-made tartare $17 the barramundi turned out to be moist and flaky and the batter was pleasingly crisp.
And don’t leave thirsty, there’s plenty of classic cocktails, whether fruity or creamy is your style Hotel Bondi have you covered.
GORDONS GIN BERRY FIZZ gordons, seasonal berries, lemon juice, soda water $15
PIMMS NO.1 CLASSIC pimm’s, equal parts lemonade & dry ginger ale, cucumber, orange wedges, strawberries & mint $15
KETEL ONE ESPRESSO MARTINI ketel one, coffee liqueur, espresso $15
