Handpicked Cellar Door, Chippendale

Wine time

Handpicked Cellar Door are a boutique wine store now with a recently opened physicla store within Kensington Street’s dining hotspot.

They have partnerships with vineyards around Australia, Italy and hopefully more countries to come.

We also learned a great cocktail hack during our visit. Simple whisk 1 scoop frozen lemon sorbet (softened) and 1 glass of chilled Prosecco, garnished with what you fancy, pictured here is rosewater fairy floss, some flowers and et voila the easiest, most delicious cocktail to impress.

Prose Cocktail

Apparently it is quite hard to find Prosecco that’s organic and straight from Italy. Tastes like green apple, but more tart

2015 Chardonnay single vineyard Mornington Peninsula – quite simply, gorgeous to drink

2015 Marsanne has an oily honey body, we’re advised its unusual texture is good with wagyu.

2015 Pinot Noir possess notes of red berry,  tastes juicy, a noted hint of spice it is incredibly smooth and envelopes the whole mouth with a beautiful perfume

2015 Tasmania More savoury, herbaceous

2015 Grenache from Barossa Valley is smooth, intense, cinnamon and strong in fruit like black cherry and citrus

2012 Shiraz Barossa valley is very typical, dependable when you’re in need of something to go with dinner

In the tanks are excerpts of fermenting wines from upcoming batches  - you can sample what has yet to be bottled

MsBrulee wined as guests of Handpicked Wines. Opinions however are our own and independent.
