Delhi by the Way, Potts Point

Only flavourful, fresh to order Indian cuisine at this bustling restaurant.

We’re informed that everything is made in house so you won’t find overly greasy deep fried street snacks. The vegetarian (or chicken if you prefer) Samosas $7.90 are encased by some flaky pastry, crumbling easily as soon as its bitten into.

Our curries are all heady in aromatic spices, creamy and so comfortingly warm. The flavours of the Peshawari Lamb Korma $23.90 Lamb cooked in cashew nut gravy is easily cleaned up with basmati rice and the Murg Makhani (Butter Chicken) $21.90 showcases the best of this popular curry, tomatoes and tandoor.

Desserts on offer are the golden Gulab Jamun $6.90  deep fried dumplings of dough soaked in sugar syrup are Ash’s favourite Indian desserts ever. I gladly let him devour it and I’m more interested in the Ras Malai $6.90 cheesecake soaked in saffron & milk syrup. Its squeaky, curd-like texture is unusual if you’re accustomed to the traditional New York/Italian-style of cheesecake. And of course if there’s any better way to finish your meal it’s with a dense creamy Mango & Raisin Kulfi $7.90
