Feeling like a royal at this Thai restaurant
Bo Larn Thai in Westfields Bondi Junction is rather resplendent. Lilac flowers hang from the ceiling and the restaurant is decked out in every corner with lush green plant foliage. Their menu spans over 10 pages and is crammed with all manner of delectable-sounding dishes. It’s overwhelming if you cannot decide what to eat but here is a guide to help you on your way.
Snack on some crispy Curry Puffs filled with chicken and potato and Money Bags stuffed with crab and chicken. Deep fried, crunchy morsels are guaranteed to kick your tastebuds into gear.
For drinks the Tom Yum Siam reads like a standard cocktail with vodka, rum, lychee, lime juice kaffir lime leaves, chilli and lemongrass and comes served in an entire coconut wrapped in a straw basket. A spoon is also provided to scoop out the coconut flesh once you’re done drinking.
Pla thod ma kham Crisp fish battered and fried then coated in sweet and tangy tamarind sauce. It is so addictive. Si Krong Kae op is twice cooked five spiced lamb’s ribs doused in a finger-licking sweet sour glaze.
End on a sweet note with the Long Chim dessert tasting platter: featuring well-known and loved Thai flavours of fragrant pandan and coconut and textures of sticky rice and tapioca.
